Five for Friday – Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Tea or Tea in the afternoon? Scone with cream and jam or scone with jam and cream? Whichever you prefer Oswestry and the Borderlands has some very special places to enjoy it!

  1. Take a slow boat along the Llangollen Canal with Llangollen Wharf and enjoy a four cruise with prosecco too.
  2. Enjoy your treat with a spoon gorilla and a whole load more weird and wonderful animals in the UK’s only metal safari park at the British Ironwork Centre.
  3. Nothing can be more quintessential afternoon at a country house hotel – The Sweeney is the place to be.
  4. Whittington village is home to a tiny semi ruined castle. Feed the ducks in the moat first and then pop in to their kitchen at the castle for your afternoon treat.
  5. A 1727 coaching inn that once hosted Queen Victoria but which is now right up to date and in the centre of Oswestry – that will be the Wynnstay.
