Explore the indie shops around town. There’s our award independent bookshop and an awesome kitchen shop to begin with. If antiques and curios are your thing, then the antiques emporium will keep you fascinated for hours. How about eclectic gift shops, a whole-food heaven or a proper pet shop?

Take a look at our galleries and museums. Oswestry Town Museum is a fascinating glimpse into our heritage. Are trains your thing? Cambrian Heritage Railways Museum will tell you more about the railway heritage of Oswestry. Don’t miss Willow Gallery and the Qube for local arts and crafts.

Climb up Castle Bank. It is opposite the TIC. Oswestry Castle once stood here but now the grassy mound is a great place to get a panoramic view of the town even as far as Old Oswestry Hill Fort.

Oswestry is famous for its pubs! Many of the oldest buildings in town have been pubs at some time. Call in for a pint or a meal and meet our friendly pub hosts. Try real ales from microbreweries and don’t miss Oswestry’s very own distillery and brewery on the edge of town.

Café culture – Oswestry is enjoying the vibe of proper café culture. Choose your coffee shop or café, order something scrumptious and sit and pass a few hours just people watching.

Don’t miss the park, especially the award winning summer flower displays.
