Local producers, independent food shops, micro breweries and local markets all celebrate the flavours of Oswestry and the Welsh Borders. Visit on market days, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and enjoy the street and indoor markets. There are traditional butchers and veg stalls and the cakes and sweets stalls are definitely scrummy.

Find out more about Oswestry food and drink

Being a market town means that producers have brought their food to town for centuries and the tradition continues. Don’t miss
Oswestry Food and Drink Festival which takes place over 2 days in July and hosts a wonderful mix of the traditional and unusual food stalls right through the town centre streets. Wander through, listen to the music and then stroll over to the flower filled park for a family picnic. Oswestry Food and Drink Festival – fun, free and fabulous!
There’s an award-winning brewery and distillery on the edge of town. What began as a micro-brewery with a few special ales is now an award-winning venue where you can taste the ales, enjoy a snack and take the dog. The next-door distillery is gearing up to release its very first whisky and is already well known for its gin. The rail link from the local heritage railway will open soon and there will be a very pleasant afternoon outing to plan from town and back again!
Stonehouse Brewery – you can taste the beers in many of our local pubs and restaurants so why not take a trip to brewery itself? You might even get a taste of their newly brewed cider. Start the weekend with a Friday visit and enjoy a bite to eat too.
