We are often asked where visitors can bring their dogs so here is a guide to attractions and places to eat, drink and stay with your dog.
Oswestry Town Centre is very dog friendly, come on market day and you and your dog will be very welcome in the market. Lots of treats at the indoor market pet shop. A walk up to the old castle mound will give you views over town and a place to stretch paws and legs. Take a stroll round the park and you could find the local ice cream seller with a special doggy friendly ice.
There are pet friendly pubs too so you won’t go home thirty or hungry and a special treat could be a visit to the local brewery with its picnic tables in the cider apple orchard.
Travel around the borderlands and you will find many places that will welcome your pet and give you wonderful walks. Stroll along canal paths, wander through historic woodlands or take a more strenuous trip in the Welsh foothills.
Don’t miss the old Racecourse. With easy parking and a figure of eight path with Offa’s Dyke running through, it is one of Oswestry’s most dog friendly destinations.
There are hotels, B&Bs, self catering and glamping sites that will all welcome you and your pet. We hope to meet you all soon!
